Mr. Braj Binani is the chairman of Binani Industries Limited.Under his visionary leadership, the company aggressively began to explore new horizons and grow very rapidly.He has been instrumental in the diversification initiative of the Braj Binani Group into Cement, Glass Fibre, EPC and Ready Mix Concrete products. His rich entrepreneurial skills and business acumen coupled with many years of industrial experience have led to the growth and expansion of the Braj Binani group in India and abroad.
Mr. Binani is an Honours graduate in Commerce.
Mr. Sunil Sethy was appointed as additional director on the board with effect from 2008 and as managing director for a period of 5 years from November 2008 to November 2013.
He has been associated with Acme Tele power Limited, Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited, Eternit Everest Limited, UB Group , PSI Data Systems, Eicher Goodearth Limited, Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited and Usha Sales Pvt. Limited. He has held positions such as CFO and MD of Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited and Corporate Director of Acme Telepower Limited.
Ms. Nidhi Singhania is a promoter non-executive director. She was appointed as additional director of the company by the board of directors in April 2009. She also serves on the boards of Binani Cement Limited and Binani Metals Limited.
Nidhi holds a B.A with specialization in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. During her graduation period she submitted reports on issues relating to labour migration within India and various steps taken by Government and NGO’s to improve the condition of migrant workers, quota removal on imports of textiles, a market research study on the popularity and knowledge relating to mediclaim policies. Her interests also include investment banking where she has attended workshops on the stock market that covered important aspects such as capital market, mutual funds, IPO’s , derivatives and index futures etc.
Mr. N. C. Singhal was appointed as an independent director on the Board in January 2008. He was the founder chief executive officer, designated as vice chairman and managing director of erstwhile SCICI Limited. Prior to that he held senior positions in ICICI bank for 15 years between 1971 to 1986 and in ONGC between 1958 to 1971.
Mr. Singhal was deputed by the government of India as a banking expert to industrial development Bank of Afganistan, Kabul during 1974-75 as part of the World Bank sponsored program. He was also engaged as a consultant and management specialist with the Asian Development Bank, Manila. Currently he is a member of the advisory board of several industrial houses and institutions.
Mr. N. C. Singhal serves on the boards of Shappoorji Pallonji Finance Limited, Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals Limited , Max India Limited, Birla Sunlife Asset Management Company Limited, Tolani Shipping Limited, XL Telecom Limited among others.
Mr. V. Subramanian aged 82 years is a commerce graduate and Associate member of Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. He has more than 50 years of experience in the field of Accountancy, Taxation, Finance and Secretarial Fields. He has been in the service of Binani Industries Limited, upto 31/10/97 and retired as Executive Vice President (Corporate). He was inducted into the Board of Company on 20th November, 2011. He also holds Directorship of many of the Companies in the Group.
Mr. Sudhakar Rao, aged about 63 years Master in Economics, Public Administration, joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1973. He serve the Union and State Government , Karnataka in different capacities i.e. in Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Jt. Secretary, Ministry of Power, Finance and the Department of Economic Affairs. He was also closely associated with a work of the path breaking Rajyadhakshya Committee on Power. He was also posted as Minister (Economic) in the Embassy of India in Washington for about four years. Mr. Rao also associated with Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC), as its Chairman and Managing Director of Karnataka and finally Chief Secretary of Karnataka before he retired from Government services in September, 2009.
Mr. Rao is currently associated on the boards of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC), the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), L&T Infrastructure and the Computer Maintenance Corporation Limited (CMC). Shri Rao is also involved with the work of several not-for-profit organizations being Chairman, BSE Institute, Chairman, Common Purpose India (which is involved with leadership training) and Chairman, BFSI Sector Skill Council of India etc. He is also an Advisor (Strategy & Development) to the Manipal Group of institutions and also a Member of several not-for-profit Organizations.
He was awarded the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award for outstanding public service in 2010.
Mr. Sudhakar Rao has been on the Board of the Company since 28th January, 2012.
Ms. Shradha Binani aged 25 years holds a Bachelors Degree in Science and International Politics from the City University, London. She joined the Board in the year 2012 as Non Executive Promoter Director. During her studies, she undertaken keen interest in international marketing. Ms. Binani has been associated with the rebuild of furnace and expansion of capacity in Glassfibre business of the Group.
Mr. Rahul Asthana aged 60 years, a B. Tech from IIT, Kanpur and Masters in Business Administration from University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Mr. Asthana brings with him reach experience of over 35 years in administration of public enterprises and worked in various departments of the Government of Maharashtra and had been Chairman of Mumbai Port Trust. He had been involved in the implementation of large infrastructural projects. He was earlier Director of our Company before his appointment in various Government Organisations. He retired as the Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA before joining the Board of the Company. Mr. Rahul Asthana has been on the Board of the Company since 6th April, 2013.
Mr. Asthana is on the Board of City & Industrial Corp.Ltd., Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Mumbai, Metro Rail One Limited.
